Welcome to the new forum - How to help out!
Hello,
Thank you to mersenneforum.org for creating us our own forum. We can chat freely without talking in one huge thread of spamming the rest of the Math forum. I'm working on the website, but in the mean time I've created a thread for making reservations for specific n values. Decide whether you want to work on Octoproths or Dodecaproths. It should be pretty self-explanatory. Pick an n value that you want to work on that isn't marked as "FOUND" or "RESERVED". Check the later posts to make sure no-one else has reserved this, post your reservation and then come back and report on the ranges you used or octoproths found. I'd also appreciate it if you can email your results_octo.txt files (even old ones, the more the merrier) to octoproth@greenbank.org When I've got the website in to good shape I will open it up. I'm also working on a network-aware client that will automate lots of the cutting and pasting into websites, etc. More on this soon. How to help:- Thanks to Robert Gerbicz for his very fast programs to check for Octoproths and Dodecaproths. Welcome, Take a look at this post:
http://www.mersenneforum.org/showthread.php?p=70401#post70401 And the one about 3 below it (#205). You'll need to decide whether you want to look for octoproths or dodecaproths (you can pick either). Take a look at the appropriate reservation thread and pick an value of n that you want to work on and the search. Don't forget to post your results so we know what is going on! [EDIT] Corrected link. |
