factoring bug?
I tried to do some factoring on a 35,000,000+ exponent with version 24.14 on an old Intel Celeron 1.1 Ghz.
I used "AdvancedFactor=35022811,35022829,1,69" in worktodo.ini and it started "Factoring M35022811 to 2^29" and then "Factoring M35022811 to 2^30" and both took around 30min then "Factoring M35022811 to 2^31" took over 90min but I was using the machine on and off during. After 2^31 it suddently jumped to "Factoring M35022811 to 2^60": prime95.jpg. Both 2^60 and 2^61 took only 10min each and 2^62 took around 20min. |
I tried the same worktodo.ini on a P4 Northwood 3.4 Ghz and again it factored to 2^27, 2^28, 2^29, 2^30, 2^31 and then it jumped to 2^60.
Again the it took pretty long before the jump and was fast after. 2^30 to 2^31 took like 45min but to 2^60 took 2.5 min, and to 2^61 took 4-5min. |
now try entering it into worktodo factor= number, starting bit and in prime.ini
factoroverride= bit number you want to go to. |
Yeah that works thanks. So I guess the advancedfactor function isn't working.
