It's been dry since August of 2004, but no longer!

(New personal and team record)

Congratulations to SlashDude, Beyond and arminius :tu:

Beyond 2008-04-20 14:51

SlasheDude's latest prime should put RPS very close to taking 4th place overall by score.

amphoria 2008-04-20 15:14

Congratulations to all three of you.

Kosmaj 2008-04-20 15:29

Yes, yet another huge prime, the first one with more than 2M digits and our new record! :w00t:
Congrats to SlashDude!

We are now 4th by score
Yes, yet another huge prime, the first one with more than 2M digits and our new record! :w00t:
I think we should wait couple more years before we will hit a 2M-digit prime

Congrats to 3 huge primes, 2 of them bigger than the first Mersenne found by GIMPS in 1996 (2^1398269-1). The primes found by Gimps in 1997 and 1998 are around n=3M, it will be very difficult to get beyond them.

By the way, I do this comparing just for fun

A couple more "Small" ones :)
666625245*2^569811-1 (171540 digits)
666625245*2^578853-1 (174261 digits)

Kosmaj 2008-04-21 20:49

Another small one

161*2^792702-1 is prime! (238630 digits)

And of course Cruelty is right, I meant "our first 2M-bit" prime. :big grin:

50529*2^357177-1

Found while testing my new quad core.
I bought a Q6700 when the price dropped on 21st April. Running at 3.25GHz with a vcore of 1.264V.

To lower the CPU temperature from 80c to 47c it's best to take the plastic film off the heatsink! lol

I thought it was running a bit warm.
