Incorrect Mathematica Double Integral
Mathematica claims that:
[tex]\Large\int_{0}^{1}\int_{0}^{1}\sqrt{x^3+y^3}dxdy=0.571374-0.0367996i[/tex] Obviously, we expect a real-valued answer. What could have went wrong? |
My Mathematica says the answer is roughly 0.635113. I would check your input for errors.

No doubt about it, I typed it in correctly.
EDIT: Now that's irritating. I went back to the image file and increased its size, but it still displays very small here. |

What version of Mathematica are you using? Mine is 5.
What version of Mathematica are you using? Mine is 5.
I'm using 4. If I want a legal version of 5, I will have to pay a lot of money... |
I'm running version 5(trial cracked).
For evaluation ofcourse. I'm getting the same as ColdFury. If you paid money for verision 4, then maybe you want it back! Or maybe the crack is wrong. ColdFury cracked? |
No, my software is legal.
|
So is mine.
So is mine.
Didn't you just say you were running a cracked trial? |
It's sort of a long story, so I'd like to prevent an argument about it.
I ordered the trial legally, and never really got to use it, because windows needed to re-installed 2 days later. Doubt it was mathematicas fault though. I was supposed to recieve another copy, after contacting them about my problem, but they never sent one. A few months passed by and I forgot about it. So I took it upon myself to use the honor system. BTW, It's not illegal, here in NH to run software on my computer.("Live free or die") Redistribution, dissesembly, reverse engineering, or sale would constitute a violation. There may be some grey areas here, but they are open to interpretation. So I modified an existing crack found online, to try out the software. I dont' really like it, although it can be used occasionally as a trial, or test in this case. So far I've used it a few days total. Trial versions should really go by actual useage anyway. But this would complicate things for the company, so they tend to side against the consumer. Again please, I dont want to argue about how what I'm doing is illegal or immoral. It's not, I don't use it. A rebuttle is fine, but don't bash me for it. |
I'm not going to argue, you can do as you please. I just wanted clarification.
