LaTeX available: Great !!!!!
Thanks Xyzzy !!!!
You even may do a little bit more: if you look at: [URL=http://www.physicsforums.com/showthread.php?t=85352]PhysicsForum[/URL] you can see that one can get the LaTeX source simply by clicking the LaTeX image. Can you provide the same on the Mersenne forum ? Thanks again ! Tony |
[QUOTE=T.Rex]Can you provide the same on the Mersenne forum ?[/QUOTE]How about if it pops up the source when you mouse over the image? Try it and let us know if this is what you are talking about.

LaTeX source pop-up: better
That's better since one no more has to click in "Quotes" in order to see the source. But it still does not enable to select the source code for pasting it in our own post without "Quot"ing.
Having a small window popping up with the source code seems to be more useful. What is the opinion of other users of the forum ? Can you build such a feature ? Regards, Tony |
In both firefox and IE I can right click bring up properties and the source is there for me to copy.
|
Right Click ?
With Mozilla, right click doesn't provide any Copy.
With IEv6 under Wid, right click does provide a Copy but when I want to past, there is nothing to past (Past is in italic). Will experiment on my native Windows-XP later. Tony |

Right click on the LaTeX image, then select "Properties". This will bring up a window that contains the source in both "Alernate text:" and "Title: " which you can then select and copy and paste. |
Dickman rho function:
[tex]\large \rho(\alpha) = \left{ \begin{array}{ll}0,&\alpha\leq 0\\1,&0<\alpha\leq 1\\1-\int_1^\alpha {\rho(t-1)\frac{\textrm{d} t}{t}},&1<\alpha\end{array}\right.[/tex] Very, very nice. It doesn't know the cases environment, but a \begin{table}{ll} works just as well. Thanks Xyzzy! Btw, I can't get the curly brace large enough. Is there anything bigger than Bigg? Alex |

You mean [b]\FrickinHuge[/b] didn't work? |
We have recompiled mimetex.cgi to enable caching, which should speed up the displaying of images a lot. Let us know if you all experience any problems.

Looks nice, but the text seems to be compressed, making it look a bit "messy".

a good link [tex]\tex[/tex]
[url]www.artofproblemsolving.com[/url]
is a good resource and has provided similar online [tex]\LaTeX[/tex] functionality for a while. Sums should take care of their own size and placement of bound depending on their context this sum should have bounds above and below because i used $$ [tex]$$\sum_{k=1}^N\varphi_kx_{N-k}<\infty \text{ for } (x_k) \in E$$[/tex] whilst this one should have them inline because i didn't use $$ [tex]\underline{\bold{\Huge \sum_{k=1}^N\varphi_kx_{N-k}<\infty \text{ for } (x_k) \in E}}[/tex] \textbf didn't work, maybe it's only in the ams packages... \bold works instead... but $ and $$ are discouraged my many sources on [tex]\LaTeX[/tex] and are considered unsupported to say the least. they are equivalent to \( \) and \[ \] but these are not available here. note: i don't mean to make a big deal of this, i use $ when i tex b/c my editor highlights them better but i would expect \( to work as well... also is it possible to increase the default size? yeah yeah i just registered and i'm already telling everyone what to do, so sue me :D |
