My very own guidesite update thread
 
This thread is hereby reserved by me to report whenever my site at [url]http://www.geocities.com/omboohankvald/[/url] gets updated :razz: . And it has been today! :w00t:

It now contains info on 100MDPP, 321, PSP, SoB SRB5 and the Sierpinski Problem.

Aren't Sierpinski numbers the k numbers that are composite for any n? The way you told it seems like [tex]\large 5*2^2+1[/tex] is a Sierpinski number. It will be always composite, I think...
You already gave a good definition in the end of your FAQ. You said that "k's that doesn't ever produce primes in [tex]\large k*2^n+1[/tex] are Sierpinski numbers"

The Cunningham Tables contain numbers of the form b^n +/- 1, with (currently) 2 =< b =< 12 and n so that the resulting number is "not too big" (~300 digits right now).
There are several tables, one for each "b" and "+" resp. "-" (The table "5-" for example holds the numbers of the form 5^n-1).

In the tables of this forum contain only (at least partly) unfactored numbers. You can see

1) The short form of the number
2) The size of the unfactored part (--> the composite)
3) The effort that has been taken so far to factor that number
4) The number itself in its decimal expression.

Now, if you want to help factoring, just* choose a number and run curves on it, afterwards report your effort and factors, if found. That's it!

*I know, it's not that easy in the beginning, but after some time, it's no problem.
