10 misconception
By interesting coincidence, I stumbled across the "8 spiders" thing a few days ago when looking up something else. Although it implies that we eat more than that number, what I've read indicates the exact opposite.

The closest I have come to knowingly swallowing a spider was about 20 years ago with a mouthful of coffee. A large house spider had evidently descended into my coffee cup from above when I wasn't looking. I didn't spot it in the coffee I was drinking but my tongue felt it as it went in and I spat it all out again just in time without swallowing.:ick:

On the other hand I have heard that there a lot of deaths each year from people swallowing bees or wasps that fly into their open beer cans when we aren't looking.

Geek: Boy needs to define C in his response. Otherwise he's a bit like "science_man".

Anyone who wants to get anywhere with Girl who asked the question will answer "Great!".

The socioeconomic ramifications of this stereotyped situation is left as an exercise to those amused....

I guess you're wondering why we never see Boy anxiously asking geeky Girl how he looks?
If so, good one!
