LLR questions
Hi, I've got a couple of questions:
1) Does LLR work best with SSE2 capable machines or does it not matter? 2) Is there a way to start LLR minimized to tray at bootup with Windows XP? 3) What is the difference between PRP and LLR? I know that PRP searches for PRobable Primes while LLR searches for definite primes. But they look very much the same to me :unsure: . Which one is fastest? Re: LLR Questions
[QUOTE=OmbooHankvald]Hi, I've got a couple of questions:
1) Does LLR work best with SSE2 capable machines or does it not matter? LLR is faster on these machines becauses the gwnum code can then use SIMD instructions. 2) Is there a way to start LLR minimized to tray at bootup with Windows XP? That was so in previous versions, but users prefer that the program begin with an opened window... 3) What is the difference between PRP and LLR? I know that PRP searches for PRobable Primes while LLR searches for definite primes. But they look very much the same to me :unsure: . Which one is fastest? LLR does deterministic tests on Riesel and Proth numbers. On other forms, it can only do PRP tests. Tests on Proth numbers are slightly faster than PRP tests, although tests on Riesel numbers are slightly slower than PRP tests. I hope this will help you... Does that mean you cannot answer my questions?

No, it means his answer is there in the quote, but nobody can easily identify that it is there (look carefully in the quote) ! |
Just break up the quote into smaller sub-quotes, and answer each sub-quote below it.
