Ewwww! This guy is (at a minimum) very, very creepy. Any parent that lets their child anywhere near Michael Jackson ought to have their head examined.

That said, the verdict was probably correct. AFAIK, there wasn't much damning physical evidence presented, and he is just weird enough that he might really sleep with children without molesting them.

I've gotten so sick of seeing that freakish multiple-plastic-surgeried, garishly made-up and lipsticked face on the various online news sites that I've disabled all image-loading in my browser. :sick:

CNN founder Ted Turner had it right when he recently talked about the "pervert of the day" obsession running rampant in the media (including CNN, which Turner is no longer involved with in any official capacity, having been forced out several years ago by "new mismanagement".)

Apparently, Jackson has undergone the depigmentation treatment (my guess).

You may have noticed, before shutting off images, that when Jackson has been shown arriving at or leaving the courthouse, he is [u]always[/u] shaded by an umbrella. Also, he always wears long sleeves, gloves, and sunglasses, in accordance with what you can read about recommended skin protection at the linked site.

As for the lipstick: colorless lips without any covering would look even stranger, and would sunburn rapidly.

Though there was publicity about Jackson's vitiligo over a decade ago, it seems obvious that a large proportion of folks who currently express distaste about Michael Jackson's appearance are ignorant of his condition and/or perhaps mistakenly associate it with the plastic surgery which he did have earlier.

Let me add that I have had even more sympathy for Mr. Jackson's condition since a couple of years ago when, as a side-effect of one of my diabetes prescriptions, I developed abnormal sensitivity to sunlight. (This can happen with a number of different nondiabetic prescription medicines, as well.)

I do not know how much Jakson's sensitivity to light resembles mine.

Even though I had no change in pigmentation, my skin now burns very, very easily. And sunscreens (at least the standard ones) don't help much, because my new sensitivity is to the violet end of the visible spectrum, not to UV. I'd have to use the opaque white sunblock that lifeguards use on their noses. (Perhaps Mr. Jackson uses some such opaque sunblock on his face?)

Standard sunscreens still do protect me from UV, to which my sensitivity has not changed. However, since I can't afford to be in sunlight much, I don't develop much natural tan for UV protection any more.

As I write this, my left forearm and back of my left hand look fairly normal, but there's a burning sensation from when I stupidly drove two days ago without taking precautuions because I thought it was sufficiently cloudy. I [i]hated[/i] wearing long-sleeved shirts in summer, but now have had to make my mind up to learn to love them. Also, gloves and hats. Usually, I just stay indoors all day as much as possible throughout the summer.

While that maybe, his skintone lightened over a period of years before he went all white. :alien:

Cheesehead, try taking Bactrim, the main drug that is given out for UTI's. When taking that and walking outside, you will get a prickly sensation all over your exposed skin. :furious:

I've no doubt that the MJFC has most of their facts about Vitiligo right (not that I'm planning to spend any time there, mind you), but MJ's sudden adult-onset whole-body (or at least the parts we can see) bleaching doesn't fit the well-known medical pattern for the disorder. While I can well believe that MJ has a medical disorder, I'm much more inclined to believe it's of the mental variety. And whether he has Vitiligo or not, I *still* don't want his face staring back at me every day when I go to read news, just like I wouldn't want my local paper to feature a splashy picture of someone else with a disfiguring disorder (or a mutilated-pet-of-the-day, or gory-body-piercing du jour) on page 1 every day of the week. Yes, the media are largely to blame for the ongoing freak-show-style coverage of the case, but then again, Jackson has gone out of his way to cultivate that kind of image, so who can blame the media for taking him up on it?

For others, the spreading occurs rapidly." Also, I would expect a person in the entertainment field to use various cosmetic means to maintain a fairly uniform skin tone appearance as the vitiligo progressed, lightening as time went on, rather than showing blotches just as they developed. I see no contradiction between Jackson's appearance history and a diagnosis of vitiligo.

I just haven't yet developed strong-enough habits of taking sufficient precautions to protect myself from it. :redface:

Also, my theory that Jackson has used cosmetics to regulate his skin appearance once the vitiligo started would imply that none of us knows just how fast his case progressed.

In fact, it could be his plastic surgery itself that was the trigger for vitiligo development. Again from the site: "The most credible theory, and the most frequently reported precipitating factor, is a single stressful physical or psychological event such as ... surgery ... or some other source of emotional trauma or distress."

:unsure: Sorry cheesehead to hear of your maladywhich can make life very uncomfortable.
I would recommend a 3 month course on Aloe Vera. Wash the affected areas with its liquid soap then apply AV gelly and have an oral dose (2 pegs) of AV gel early morning the first thing on an empty stomach. It is best for diabetics and its off shoots of related complaints.
I saved my wife of amputation of the right foot because it had 5 non healing ulcers as diagnosed by the leading specialists. Daily use of the combination I mentioned cured her in 8 months.
