file modifications to .int and others

Hi,
i'd like to try the factoring portion of the P95 program. What modifications, to what files do I make to factor, say M809?
How about M101?
thank you! Nick

People have already trial factored the smaller numbers a lot. For something like M809 the prime95 trial factoring is very inefficient. ECM is much better. The new GMP-ECM has come out and you may want to work with that.

I would suggest that before you embark on this venture thoroughly understand what is involved and what work has been done before in order not to waste effort. Also read the Prime95 help document especially the undocumented features file undoc.txt

ECM in Prime95

Doesn't Prime95 have some capabibilty for ECM? Or is GMP-ECM supposed to be more efficent than Prime95?

Yes and no. Prime95 is better for stage 1 and GMP-ECM is better for stage 2. Look in the thread called changes in evrsion 22.9 or something like that. I posted in it a couple of days ago with Alex Kruppa's instructions on how to make the two work together.
