Stop p95 or llr before restarting?

Does restarting or shutting down without stopping the proccess lose any work since last automatic save for p95 or llr?
Thx

As long as you use the normal windows shut down, no. On the system shutdown, P95 saves. The automatic is incase IE crash your machine, etc.

I've never stopped the LL tests before shutting down my machine, and nothing bad has happened so far.

What about newpgen, should that be stopped before a restart? It takes a really long time to stop for me, cause the file is about 250 megs now.

AFAIK, newpgen only actualizes the sieve file when you shut it down - and in regular intervals, when selected.

So anotherwards no need to stop newpgen, even if it is a large file? It seems that it is quicker to shutdown than to stop the newpgen manually, so it must not be doing it.

I think you'll loose the progress since your last save point when you quit without saving.
To make sure, you could write down at what point newpgen is at a certain moment in time and shut it down afterwards. If values don't differ much, it's ok no to save...

But I doubt this, as "It seems that it is quicker" sounds to me like the progress is not saved...
