Factoring 40M to 41M to 2^60
This is my first attempt here. I've found the info about how to get the worktodo from the nofactor.cmp, but here's my question. When you've factored a range to some depth, say 59, how do you extend it, i.e. how do you build the worktodo.ini file, removing all exponents where factors have been found? (I'm assuming here that the range is just finished, so there is no new nofactor file available)>
Also, how often do you report the results.txt file to George, after the range is complete or at regular intervals? Norbert |

Also, how often do you report the results.txt file to George, after the range is complete or at regular intervals?[/quote] The second line quoted above is the answer to the first line. You choose an amount of work for at least a month. When you've done half of it you send in the results. By the time you send in the second half the first half is again available in a new nofactor file. YotN, Henk |
Thanks, Henk.
BTW, I'm running this on 2-4 CPUs in parallel, tested 351, no 352 exponents so far, found 13 factors. Norbert |

Well within the amount of expected factors. Good work. |
Some statistics. I'll send results for all subranges to George
[code:1] Range (M) Exponents Factors 40.0-40.1 2236(*) 87 40.1-40.2 2683 97 40.2-40.3 2613(**) 83 40.3-40.4 2655 78 40.4-40.5 2618 93 40.5-40.6 2613 101 40.6-40.7 2586 102 40.7-40.8 2569 81 40.8-40.9 2645 81 40.9-41.0 2560 88 [/code:1] (*) 385 additional exponents were already factored to 2^60 (**) 2 additional exponents were already factored to 2^69 |
Let us know when you finish the entire range and I will update the list to reflect that.

I'll post here when the complete range is done. I'm updating the above table as I finish subranges, some results are already in nofactor.
|
done.

From the number of factors you found, it seems you have TFed the range from 58 to 60bits. Is it true?
|
yes, the range was factored to 2^58 previously
