Does the Linux/Memtest/Mprime disk work for this?
Or is it too much restricted to memory checking?

alpertron 2005-02-21 20:35

I think the Linux version should work on DOS if compiled with DJGPP.

I tried it, but the graphics arn't very good, and you have to load it from a floppy every time, and it runs slow.

Mabey I should rephrase my question. Where can I get a dos program that would LL test, not connect to gimps?

moo 2005-02-24 01:02

mprime can do that it runs in linux idk about dos there was a version that booted linux from a floopy and then ran a torture test.

I compiled MLucas version 2.8 using DJGPP 2.03.

I tested it with known Mersenne primes under DOS mode of Windows 95:

For n=2281 it produced a segmentation fault.
For n=23209 and n=110503 it shows a Res64 not zero, indicating that the number is not prime.
