am i rignt if i say each exponent existing on the list is taken by someone ?
No, only the ones that say "Active to xx" are being worked on (i.e. are reserved) currently. The rest have been taken to the bit level shown and can be reserved to higher bit levels if you want (e.g. 3321934129 has been taken to 71 bits already).
so, if 3321934129 71 is already taken, am i right to say 3321934130 from 62 to 71 is free ?
No, the reason for the 'gaps' on the list, e.g. why 3321934130 isn't there, is that only prime exponents need to be tested. If the exponent is composite, (e.g. 3321934130), then the associated Mersenne number must be composite (e.g. 2^3321934130-1 is composite). If the exponent is prime, (e.g. 3321934129), then the associated Mersenne number (e.g. 2^3321934129-1) may be prime or composite.

i reserve 3321934951 from 73 to 75

Pat,

As explained above,

"3321934199 69" means 2^3321934199-1 has already been tested for factors up to 2^69. You could reserve this number to test from 2^69 to 2^70 or 2^71 or even higher.

Currently the lowest available tests start at 2^69. There are a few exponents that have not yet been tested this high, but somebody is already working on them.

Keep asking questions and we will keep trying to explain.

William
Pat - that exponent has already be tested to 71.

You should be able to check http://www.moregimps.it/billion/expo_a.php (seems to be currently not available)

The site is going up and down. I opened a ticket to my provider on July 2nd...

That's how things go in Italy.

Welcome.

Bounds this high usually use the Graphic Card (GPU) program. It can be pretty slow if you are using the CPU version.
