I am the problem, not my PC
I discovered the source of the error for 3321934709 -- me.
The power went out overnight. This got me to look for the outcome in the RESULTS.TXT file instead of the final Factor4 line in the DOS window... and there it was, not only for the 68-to-69 run, but also the original result. Moreover, it found two factors and not just one. Below are the contents of my RESULTS.TXT file:
M3321928097 no factor from 58.000 bits to 59.000 bits. M3321928097 no factor from 59.000 bits to 60.000 bits. M3321934307 no factor from 62.000 bits to 71.000 bits. M3321934537 no factor from 62.000 bits to 71.000 bits. M3321934207 no factor from 62.000 bits to 71.000 bits. M3321934709 has a factor: 378121774679999658041 M3321934709 has a factor: 1839558484365372097673 M3321934709 has a factor: 378121774679999658041
(Ignore the top two lines; IIRC those are from when I was learning how to use the software.) Obviously I need to be more careful in my reporting. This is mortifying, and I'm sorry to have caused such inconvenience. It's a good thing Luigi is on vacation -- he didn't end up adding to the time that we have all wasted because of this mistake. Rodrigo |
Nice to know it is not the software, or the machine.
Knowing that it is you is not fun. You win some, you lose some. |

I tested it on my Windows 7 64 bit and gave me no error. Would you mind sending your resume and results logfiles to me, so that I will be able to check what may be wrong? Answered by Patrick: i started another compute but at the end, i'll send you this. Just as a reminder... Luigi |

Now, on to more manageable bit levels for this PC... Rodrigo |
Now, on to more manageable bit levels for this PC...
Rodrigo
Does that mean 3321934757 to 71 bits? You also still have 3321934207 and 3321934307 reserved from 71 to 73 bits. |
