113156*5^110873+1 is prime!
Congrats to Xentar for the second Top 5000 prime from LLRNet
Oh... if we do find any other primes, does each person have to do the reporting to the top5000 database him/herself? Or is it handier to give prover codes and let the administration take care of that?
It is preferrable for each person to do the reporting, since they may already have existing prover account. Anyway, the process is fairly simple, so it shouldn't be an issue. EDIT:- A new 294-k dat file is coming soon! |
Out of commission
Hi guys. Today was my last day on my work project, and on Sunday I fly to Dhaka, in Bangladesh, where I will live for the next three years.
I did leave the work computer on, but someone already appears to have shut it down, so no more contribution from that PC to the project :( So I will not have time for a little while to contribute to the search. Hope you find many primes, all juicy ones Regards Robert Smith |
Next one ;)

next in the 24h by helix_von_smelix, riesel part
Wow! That was some prediction. Anyway, congrats to helix_von_smelix. http://primes.utm.edu/primes/page.php?id=78632 A new 291 k dat file is on its way. |
Wow! That was some prediction. Anyway, congrats to helix_von_smelix.
not too difficult: look at previous days number of test. from 8/10/2006 at 22H00 gmt to 9/10/2006 18h00 gmt, helix was pushing a little (response to carlos, helix wanted to stomp him and carlos added a prime to the 24 h challenge ... ) i was aware of the challenge so easy to guess the prime and the finder ! 217592*5^157128-1 is prime!
This the heaviest weighted k and will remove more than 60000 entries from the srsieve.data file, a 1% reduction in the size of that file. Oddly enough, this one I just started two weeks ago while the each of the other k I have reserved have yielded no primes after many weeks... |
Pity
Ah...
316714*5^106843-1 just fell off the top-5000 list... only 22 on them now, 330836*5^107328-1 ready to fall anytime |

Ah well, I already have had 'plenty' of primes in it, since 1998 or summat like that, and all but four of them have fallen off :glare: .
Now I'm hoping for a few here... One is stuck at 480 now, so that one will take a while to fall off. The chen-prime is a particularly nice one, took over 10 days to verify... (compared to the minus 770 seconds for my largest one... (yes... minus)) (if interested, see prover codes g61 & p180) And oh... I bought a athlon 64-X2 especially for this project (and because my other PC went boogers) |
