George, I wholeheartedly agree with your assesment of the situation. My "possible suggestions" were just brainstorming and did not necessarily apply to the current situation. I was just trying to provide "food for thought" and agree with all of your replies. "not writing in the interval with an error" was an adjunct to not deleting/renaming the oldest save file. I was offering it as a suggestion to help make sure that only "Good" save files get written so that leaving them around would not cause more problems when they are used for a restart.

Garo, After 48 hours of stress test with no problem, I've restarted the LL Double Check. I put both lines in prime.ini and it seems to have worked. I got the save file without all the verbosity I got the last time. I wish that I had thought of that before, it would have saved 2 months of work! Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Now all I have to do is remember to delete the old files before the hard drive fills up. <g>
