Is there a way of finding out what kind of ram my computer has installed, without opening it and assuming the ram in there isn't what it originally came with?

yes there are many sandra um intels motherboard temp reader also tells ram there are a few i cant think of many to test it memtest86

If you know the computer or mobo make and model you can go over to Crucial.com and they'll tell you.

There is a tiny program called CPU-Z on [url]www.cpuid.com[/url] that gives you all the info about your memory, motherboard, cache, CPU and more...

o yaa cpuz works well also its not good for old comps like a 1998 gateways lol
