Budget card : GTX3050

A little review of the card
Nvidia's RTX 3050 delivers good performance for its theoretical $249 starting price.
Unfortunately, that also means there's not a snowball's chance in hell that it won't
sell for radically inflated prices. It lands between the previous-gen RTX 2060
and GTX 1660 Super, both of which currently sell for far more than Nvidia's asking price.
And from https://www.techpowerup.com/gpu-specs/geforce-rtx-3050-8-gb.c3858

FP64 (double) performance 142.2 GFLOPS (1:64)

For comparaison sake a telsa T4 (used in colab) has around FP64 (double) performance of 254.4 GFLOPS (1:32) and produce 1900-2000 GHzDay a day so the 3050 would produce around 1K GhZDay by day

Hate to spam but I'm talking about TF performance

Look at the 'theorical performance'

Personally, I do not consider this spamming. IMO, it is useful knowledge, worth considering...

I only "rent compute in the cloud" nowadays, unless the data needs to be sovereign. Not only is my local electron cost high (as it should be), but just getting atoms here can be a bit of a massive pain in the butt...

I have reason to believe that some others reading this thread who happen to exist in the "Home of the Brave" (Land of the Free) /might/ be quite interested in what you have posted...

And they might then spin up some kit "in-house"... Perhaps actually heating their home(s) while reducing entropy...

It's really cool being alive, in this day and age! Isn't it???
