What's brown and comes out of Cowes?
I can't take much credit, IOW. At least, it's saved computing a few dozen LL tests.

I should have more Tex.
Took me a few sex to guess "I only wish".
Still, you got a truckload of GHz Hours.
Be grateful for what you've got.
No need to nick that plasma TV, and those wise magistrates seem
to be taking a popularist view of "proportionate sentencing" ATM.
OK. It's called something like "Deterrent" or summat.

Just because I dislike our "post 9/11" surveillance, it doesn't
mean I feel guilty M'Lud.

What was that I was reading about "Don't have riots in the US of A"
in the soapbox?

Whoops, I forgot about Watts!!!!
And, my sleuthing points count much less than my programming points, so I work on those instead...
We have never ridden a motorcycle before, but we figured that should not be a deterrent from trying, so we snagged a cute red one today.
I was involved in a collision today that would have been very bad for a rider (rear-ended by oblivious driver while at a dead stop). However, it appears that my car gave it's life for mine (the shop says that it likely a total). Head vs 'B' pillar is not fun :ouch1:

The reason that this is in the Happy Meal thread: everyone 'walked away'.

Glad everyone got out intact.
We have never ridden a motorcycle before, but we figured that should not be a deterrent from trying, so we snagged a cute red one today. We spent the afternoon riding in a large parking lot across the street. So far we can shift to second gear and take off from a stop without stalling it. Anything over 3,000RPM is too scary for now, but riding like an old grandma is still a lot of fun!

Unbelievable but true: There is no mandatory helmet law in Arkansas!

As someone who lives in Arkansas, I've come up with the theory that the more teeth you have in your mouth, the more likely you are to wear a helmet. Also, I think Conway is the Arkansas city with the best toothed people, mainly because of all the tech jobs offered here at places like Acxiom.
That is a very cool link. Thanks for sharing it!

We used to donate all of the time, because in the Army they let us have the rest of the day off if we did. But, after pulling a tour in Africa, we were no longer allowed to donate. We should probably look to see if that has ban has expired.
My family can't donate because of mad cow disease in Europe. I myself can't donate because of psychiatric med use, so it's a double whammy.

500 P-1 tests (34 successes = 6.8%) lifetime, 252 of which have been in the past year. That's just over 5 1/2 GHz-years devoted to P-1. I believe that P-1 is now completed (with a decent B1 and B2!) on everything between 60M and 60.01M.

I also just recently crossed over 51,000 TF results lifetime, with 21,365 in the past year.

There is probably a healthy number of teeth in Bentonville too, what with their being home to Wal-Mart HQ. Unfortunately, the same may not really be said for the stores themselves...

It's that time of year again...
Right on target, the last two are scheduled to finish by the stroke of midnight Wednesday night. No primes amongst the other 22, two of which cracked under P-1 and the other 20 of which required "the full monty" a.k.a. an LL test.

Going to try to be *really* ambitious this year:

28 LL candidates - 8 will be mainstream candidates that I'll pull via manual assignment on Thursday; the other 20 comprise all of the candidates of the form 820902xx and 90282xxx (think dates...). Some of these 28 may not even make it to the LL stage - there is still several bits (from 64 and 66, respectively) of TF needed (as well as P-1) on the 82M and 90M exponents. These will be the largest exponents I have ever tested. Should be fun.

28 double-checks - I will take the first 28 candidates of the form 2828xxxx to be double-checked. This should help the DC cause, and gain me more than a few positions on the DC Producers list (a mere 3 DCs got me to the 44%ile!)

282 P-1 assignments - I will take these exponents out as I go, but the goal is to finish 282 P-1 assignments at the 60M threshold or better. I've got a couple of machines with 3 GB of RAM in mind for this...

28,282 TF assignments - Between 9/2/10 and 9/2/11, the goal is to complete a total of 28,282 TF assignments, whether they are mainstream assignments or LMH quickies (obviously, there will be more of the latter than the former). Note that this is an average of 77-78 TFs a day. I've turned in 20,000 or so this year without really trying. So this should be doable...

And, yes, the 28 theme has to do with the fact that I'm turning 28 this year. Looking forward to another year crunching with GIMPS, and here's hoping we hit M48!!
:bump: Now taking suggestions for this year's projects...y'all have until the stroke of midnight GMT Thursday/Friday, September 1/2 .

KingKurly 2011-08-30 02:50

I now have electric service after Hurricane Irene, and my computers are coming back online for GIMPS work after having been down for about 48 hours.

How did you do on last year's projects?

Obviously, this year's theme should be 29..29 cores, 29 tests for Operation Billion Digits, 29,292 TFs, etc.

You'll need some good CUDA cards to do this.....
