Just noticed that I recently raised my lifetime posts-per-year average[sup]*[/sup] past the big Five - Oh!

Time as mersenneforum.org member: six years, six months -- today.

I'm not sponsoring a contest to see who can first exceed the post count of a dead person. Mally was a special, prominent and thoughtful contributor to this forum. I thought the atmosphere that had arisen in that thread had become disrespectful of Mally, and improper for something outside of the Soap Box. Perhaps I would have requested that it be moved to Soap Box, as an alternative to closure, if I had thought of it at that time.

I had the same problem with posts showing up when I joined. They only show up when a moderator (with green or red username) has approved them for posting (For instance, I am not a moderator, because my username is blue). This is done to prevent spam. Soon you will not need your posts approved, they will show up straight away.
