Oh well, it was worth a shot, yes I meant birth of a child. There are so many things that can happen to someone once in their lifetime. Care you give any more hints?

Yes, it can happen only once in my life. I didn't have full control over the timing; I was able to determine the latest time at which it could happen, but not the earliest (otherwise, it would have happened many, many years earlier).
