Yeeesss!
I'd just want to thank Luigi and C.M. for this merging. It is always good to say "Welcome into the Clan" to someone! Let's hope the Family become bigger and bigger, for our fun and GIMPS's success!
Regards from Italy Guido |
Just think... If Team Italia joined Team Prime Rib...
:yzzyx: |
...or...
... What if we'd evolve from T_I to "Team_Europe"? Something like Old Europe vs Jung America, opposed on Primenet, but joined in the amazing search for MPrimes...

Every cloud...
It would seem that my Athlon system going kaput http://mersenneforum.org/showpost.php?p=98504&postcount=9 has done me a favour. In a couple of weeks I should have the money for a Core2Duo system! (Methinks I should break my Sempron PC  ) |
I installed Prime95 on my sister's new desktop, which has a Core 2 Duo T7400. Despite it not being on 24 hours a day, it should be quite a powerful workhorse.
At long last, a return on the investment! The finish also brings me to #596 in the Primenet rankings! Now if only I could rise 100 more places... |

Well, I just finished testing my first Mersenne number in the ten million digit range. Unfortunately, it wasn't prime.
UID: S249916/C7EE9BE0E, M36627133 is not prime. Res64: 726DFE6DBA0062**. Wc1: 09FD938A,9058273,00000000
Maybe M37932161 will be prime, though. |
made it into the top 5000 !
I suppose it will be harder to get into the top 500  |
My first factor
My first factor :

It was my birthday yesterday. If it's 2007 I must be 57.
For a millisecond I thought this might be prime and give me an excuse to post, but alas I factorized it:down: |

Well, 57 is not a close miss, but 2007, 200757 and 572007 do only have 1 other factor apart from 3 (trivial factor since 2+7, and 5+7 are in 3Z). Try adding day & month to the year... |
