I flew an airplane alone for the first time. No instructor, just me. Me by myself up in the air in a Piper Tomahawk. From takeoff to landing. A very important milestone on the way to a pilots licence.
Yes, I know. I know several pilots, been to Airventure, and eaten a "hundred dollar hamburger" or two.

Congratulations!!! Nicely done.

Do you have any plans?

akruppa 2006-04-21 11:24

Actually, yes. I visited Paul Zimmermann in November (Torbjorn Granlund was there, too) in Nancy. I did not yet have any particular plans back then, so he arranged a PhD position for working out algorithmic improvements to ECM. We have a bunch of ideas for stuff we'd like to try out. I hope I'll get accepted for the position, if I am, I'll pretty much do what I've done all along: hacking GMP-ECM, except fulltime and getting paid for it! :w00t:

Oh, and this is my 1024th post! :showoff:

Alas, I am still struggling under the yoke of the merciless GE gods... But my hope is that it will be over by the end of 2006.

I just discovered my 10th Top-5000 prime, thanks to Riesel Prime Search project.

918332415*2^364130-1 is prime, and it's 109624 digits large.

(quasi-repdigit) twin primes

(13*10^3883+23)/9 and (13ยท10^3883+41)/9 are proven prime!

I discovered my second second Top5000 prime :)

(hm, I cannot understand why this 'unverified' prime is the only listed on my page. The first prime I found isn't even in my "All of this person's primes" page.)
