wow...1 Tb hard drive
This may be old to some, but looks like a company is selling a 1 Tb HD!
Unfortunately, hard drives don't help much in the search for primes. We need a 1 TFlop processor, lol. |
1 Tb?! I can't even hope to come anywhere close to filling up a 40 Gb hard drive...

Try running a large NFS factorization. It's not hard to use tens of gigabytes. A single file can easily exceed 5Gb. Paul |
Using a Google search of terabyte +"hard drive", I found:
http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?id=10118 It costs $1199
Try running a large NFS factorization. It's not hard to use tens of gigabytes. A single file can easily exceed 5Gb. Paul
:w00t: |
I'm frequently using VMWare, and these images can easily get to several gigabyte.
Save a few of these and a big part of the harddrive space is gone. A 2 to 3GB swap file doesn't help either. |
Yes, and if you prefer lossless audio, not lossy (MP3-like) then 80gb is really not enough

I have an 80, 2 120s, a 160, a 175, and a 200 in my machine. (855 Jigabytes)
Free space: 66.4, 71.8, 54.1, 45.1, 29.7, 49.3 (316.4 Gigabytes) Can't exactly afford the $1200 price-tag though. |

They are great for real PC based video editing. I actual suggested that one be purchased for such.
