OK, I'll try to see if I can scrape up 150MB if that's what the problem is. PRP checks have been causing mprime to crash so maybe addressing that will help. I'm working with a trimmed down Peppermint OS on an 8GB NVMe. |

If you can't find 150MB or so of disk for your PRP-proof data, please do the LL double checks rather than downgrading.
You need a minimum of roughly 3GB. Go to Options/Resource Limits to reduce prime95's disk usage. If you can't afford 3GB, please consider LL double-checking. It is not impossible to find a new Mersenne prime while double-checking. |

Whoops! Sorry for the bad information, ssybesma. |
Are PRP proofs stored on the server forever? Or are they deleted once they are verified?

I see, thanks for the information.
Another question: I would like to keep my bandwidth usage down on some computers and configure Prime95 to verify only my own PRP proofs. Does unchecking the "Get occasional proof certification work" option do this, or does it also assign my proofs to someone else? |

You cannot configure prime95 to certify only your own work. Furthermore, the proof file must be sent to the server to start the verification process. That is, there isn't a way to reduce proof bandwidth (which is ~120MB / PRP test). I suppose if PRP proof bandwidth is a significant issue, you could save the proof files and snail mail them to me on a USB stick. |
Gotcha. Is there a way to manually upload proofs to the server?
The manual results page only seems to accept text files. Do users still have to use Prime95 / mprime to upload proofs? |
Move them to prime95's or mprime's folder, they will be uploaded automatically at next checkup. This includes moving them between computers, if you have a stand-alone compute without net on which you crunch and generate proofs, move the proofs to another computer where you have p95 running (even fake, no assignment), and net access, and they will be uploaded.

That's what I figured. Thanks.

I think I found a typo in the readme file:
*For proof power 7, tt is possible to cut the proof file size in half but this doubles the work required by the user doing the certification. See undoc.txt.
|
