The file rename is not needed.
If you get an error, just try again. There is some really, really weird bug going on that I cannot figure out. |
BTW, it is now safe to run PRP cofactor tests with proofs.
I tried PRP-CF with 35 GB spare disk space in the settings, but it is still using power=8. I guess for PRP-CF that's not really an issue, just reporting. |
6/6 Cert successes on Windows (3 different systems; all Windows 10).
Now 12/12; certs run on 5 systems, 2 of which were Windows 7. One of the 12 was a power-9, the rest power-8. Some of the older slower Xeons I have take 3 hours to do a power 8 cert.
Will there be a way to opt out of doing certs? (Other than downgrading to v29.8b6) I would not want to have my PRP testing or other work, including manually assigned work, preempted by doing Certs for Ben Delo et al all day and night. |
Do I have to set my machine for PRP-DC to get the verification runs?

There is an optimal power where the original tester and the certfier are each doing about the same amount of extra work. Prime95 won't use the extra disk space to choose a non-optimal power. |
Do I have to set my machine for PRP-DC to get the verification runs?
No. The current client rules are: not working on an ECM or P-1 assignment and less than 85% complete on the current assignment. The current server rules are: not ANONYMOUS, must have done at least one LL or PRP, and not a re-certification. |

Will there be a way to opt out of doing certs? (Other than downgrading to v29.8b6).
Yes. You could set SequentialWorkTodo=1 right now. I'm thinking of an opt out flag, or set the download rate limit to zero, or maybe a "no more than N certs per day" setting. |
The current server rules are: not ANONYMOUS, must have done at least one LL or PRP, and not a re-certification.
So, I have to do at least one PRP or PRP-DC on this machine. PRP-CF does not count toward that I guess. My PRP-CF-DC's are doing the VDFs.

I'm thinking of an opt out flag, or set the download rate limit to zero, or maybe a "no more than N certs per day" setting.
Thanks. SequentialWorkTodo is a boolean? (0 does work in priority order, 1 does sequentially what's listed under each worker's worktodo section) Note, SequentialWorkTodo=0 appears in undoc.txt, but =1 or its meaning does not explicitly appear there. Enabling a user specifiable daily quota of n certs per day would straightforwardly provide for optout, if N=0 meant none, not "no restriction". |
PRP-CF does not count toward that I guess.
I'm running first time PRP-CF tests on version 30.1b1 and do not receive any CERT work, either. So (not quite empirically), I'll guess that your assumption may be right. |
