I had an uncle, by marriage, who immigrated here from Germany sometime after WWI. He fought in that war. I was able to pick up bits and pieces because he would translate them. He was a farmer, and when he got mad, the English went out the window in a hurry. He passed away in the mid 1970's.

I think the rating of mersenne.ca is totally exaggerated, the RTX 3080/3090 won't even surpass a RXVega64 in OpenCL performance, certainly not in the price / performance ratio.
f.e. A Tesla K80 needs 5800-6200 us / it for a 104M exponent, with a Vega64 you need a maximum of 1745 us / it for 104M, the values ​​on mersenne.ca do not even come close to reality.
