Thanks for the encouraging words. Indeed, Mars (aka "Marzipan" aka "Super Mars!") is doing fine. And has a new nickname...
Since he now looks somewhat Borg-ish, he's now also known as "2^3 of 3^2". Or "8 of 9" to his friends...
I tried to hold back, and succeeded once, but I feel a compulsion to ask, "Why not Squinty?" |
Why not Squinty?
Doesn't involve math that I can use to annoy those around me... |
Locutus is a non-math one that would fit.

Risk of name-space collision... |

Colab infinite loop
1 Attachment(s)
I started getting this looping just now in Colab...
Never mind, factory reset runtime cleared up the problem. |
i had that. I did the factory reset and it couldn't get a response from the GPU72 servers.

Hmmm... The only thing I can think of is a networking issue. There were no unusual requests for Chuck just now. As in, every request seen by the GPU72 server was satisfied. |

That happened to me once but I forgot to supply the access key. Factory reset plus added key and all was well. Hmm, wonder if anonymous still works. |
One assignment at a time rule.
Hey all, long time no see.
I started in on the colab thing today, and in the process of restarting and copying notebooks to work out what was possible, I got a bunch of assignments from gpu72. Nothing insurmountable, but I had thought from reading this thread if I restarted a notebook it would pick up from where the last one left off. Since I've been getting a new assignment every time, whether the notebook ran for 5 minutes or an hour, I thought I'd ask for clarification. |

Hey! Welcome back! If you stop the GPU72_TF Notebook, and then restart it, it will indeed continue working on what it was previously assigned. If, however, you do a "factory reset" you are basically given a brand new instance, and so it is given new work. Any assignments which have not had any work reported back to the GPU72 server will be recycled after 20 minutes. However, even if only a tiny amount of work is reported (this happens every two (2#) minutes) then it is yours until completion. Work is re-issued after not seeing any updates reported for 20 minutes. This is done based on the amount of work already completed, descending. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. And thanks for helping out! |
