2 is a divisor of (2^2*,***,***)

False

Hey George,
So what was the last Mersenne false positive exponent?
It must be ok to give it out now.
I cant find any threads about it either. :ermm:
I would like to do a run on the number! :help:

Thanks in advance,
Shane F, TTn
So what was the last Mersenne false positive exponent?
It was in the upper 18 millions. GP2 data mined it a year ago. Look for it in the verified lucas database at the bottom of http://mersenne.org/status.htm
It's the only triple-verified result with my userid as one of them and I think ewmayer as one of the others.

13,000,000...

TTn 2004-05-22 18:31

The only triple check that I find with your involvment between n = 13-19 million is:

16811549,blanke,laptop,WZ1,23A0B8EE222146CA,3933317,00000000
16811549,GW,P4-1600,WZ1,23A0B8EE222146CA,7971791,00000000
16811549,gbvalor,,G29,23A0B8EE222146CA,0,

What's the deal? :nuke:
Honestly, why the secret?

BTW
I didn't appreciate searching through all those numbers for nothing, with the find text function. I also double checked with an executable I made.
:furious:

My DC run passed 7M seven hours ago.

tom11784 2004-05-22 18:37

so at 7.5M yet? :bounce:

ewmayer 2004-05-22 19:18
so at 7.5M yet? :bounce:
I was right at 7.5M (well, 7.468M, to be precise) when I posted that. Not quite keeping up with Xyzzy's speedy p4, but still a hell of a lot faster than when I started last sunday, before I got a multithreaded version of my code built successfully on the Itanium.

It's not a secret - that data has been there for a year. Honestly, why the fascination with this number?

BTW, If someone had to waste time searching for the number, I prefer it be your time wasted.

Ernst, watch your rear-view mirror!! I am now past 7M matching everyone but I now have 4 Itanium2 CPUs to play with so I am getting 0.028sec/iteration. :showoff:

Not sure how long I will be able to run that but if I can maintain this speed, I am looking at less than a week.

Jeff.
