Yes, that should be the reason. Get it while you can...
To report from my POV... All twelve (12#) Colab instances (each tied to a separate Gmail account) continue to get 2.5 to 4 hours of GPU time each day. Each account has it's own "temporal window of availability", but I've found if I'm busy and don't grab a GPU at the start of the window, I can successfully get them later than I normally would ask for them. Continue to regularly get T4s. And the Factory Reset thing continues to do its magic. I have never not received a CPU when requested (12 hours run-time each). I think Colab "did some stuff" recently, in that for the last week some of my instances have actually received two runs of GPU. One in the morning, and then the second late at night. |

I have seen some of that too. |
@chalsall: you're in Google Gods' good graces, man!
No such luck here. |
La la land...
That's where about a dozen complete TF assignments are.

Ah... Thanks. SUPER busy this morning. The server's been "kicked". |

Maybe. As said before, we have no idea what the "signals" are for GPU availability. As an experiment, last night I created another Gmail account (using a phone number already known to Google) and spun up another Colab instance (SOCKS tunneled into a server in the US). Launched the GPU72 TF Notebook, and was given a K80. The factory reset trick then resulted in a T4, which lasted for 10 hours. This morning I attached again, and was given another T4 to work with. It's still running after 3.5 hours... |

So, just to update... The T4 instance lasted exactly 10 hours. I immediately reconnected and was handed a P100. It will be interesting to observe how long this behavour lasts. |

It will be interesting to observe how long this behavour lasts.
My four paid instances each run for 18 hours and 30 minutes. I have to wait six hours before I can restart them. They always get P100s. (That's one $9.99 monthly fee to run the four notebooks) During that six hour period I can start two "free" instances, and they each run for 1 hour and 30 minutes. Sometimes I get a T4. This has been fairly consistent for the past several weeks. |
So starting just a while back, either colab or google drive is not being cooperative. I am unable to read any files from the google drive inside the notebook. Anyone facing similar issue?
I will try after couple of hours and see if this resolves itself. Could be some transient glitches. |
Same here. "Input/output error" encounted.
