This behaviour is recent: until a few days ago, factors were reported flawlessly.
Whoops! Sorry -- this time an "Error Between Keyboard And Chair"... I was manually cleaning up some duplicate results from my own experiments, and I must have made a mistake with the SQL statements. Your related results lines have been reset -- please try resubmitting; should work again.

BTW, this was in relation to the race condition I was talking about earlier. Majorly stupid -- the re-assignment code was setting the Assigned timestamp, but not the Last Updated (for ~two minutes). And, thus, if someone had outstanding work to complete but launched two or more instances at the same time, there was a brief temporal window where duplicate assignments could be given.

Should be fixed now, but I'm heading out the door in a bit for meetings, so I don't want to make any additional changes (read: shorting the reassignment period) until I'm BAC to observe.

Lastly, completely tangential... Later today I'll be ready to have beta testers try to break my automatic SSH Reverse Tunnel Notebook.

Anyone interested in being able to SSH into one or more instances from your workstation (including Windows using Putty et al), please PM me.

Interesting stuff, this thread.

colab notebooks or use by application, and post#
mfaktc #2; 19
misfit 25
cudapm1 26; 158
gpuowl 29
cado-nfs 131
cudalucas 178
mprime 208

(no mlucas yet that I've seen)

I'm using it for both mprime, which is running stage 1 ECM curves, and GMP-ECM running the stage 2 residues (which is using about 8.5GB of memory). :)

OK, I still have a bit of back-end stuff to do on this, but for anyone who might want to use this ability...

Please visit https://instanceroot.com/ and create an account. I haven't finished the actual UI to configure the tunnels yet, but that's on the way.

I got a little extremely silly in the geek dimension with the "skinning" of the site. I hope some will appreciate the (attempted) humor...

P.S. Usual disclaimer: free; won't spam you, etc, etc...

What happens when you reach the 30 hours runtime within a week?

Should one just stop, or will Google terminate your connection, or what?

This is kaggle GPU qouta - it keeps track, and also tells you when your quota gets replenished. So I'm guessing they'll terminate.

A warning banner is displayed when the time limit gets down to six hours and counts down each remaining hour. It terminates when the quota is used up. Sometimes you get an hour or so over.

LOL... Thanks, guys.

You know you're doing an OK job when the bug reports you're getting are smelling mistakes in the Human...
