Who and why gave me this unsolicited, childish avatar? I hope it's some kind of a mistake/glitch.

Otherwise I don't see it funny when admins abuse their powers.

goto User CP menu
click edit avatar
select do not use an avatar

If you don't select an avatar of your own then as you spend more time on the forum one is chosen for you. You can keep it, or not. I promise there's no ulterior motive in the one selected for you.

I suggest that you have some fun with your avatar. Find one that fits your personality.

Browsing with image-rendering on is a colossal waste of bandwidth, anyway - I only find out about Xyzzy having occasional fun with my av when other users mention it.

When mine was changed (and the explanatory text added under my name), I took it as a sign of appreciation.
Someone took notice of my presence... :razz:
