Why did I get a 332M exponent
I've changed my CPU setting to receiving a LL-100M exponent, but the one I've received seems a little big. Why suddenly a huge 332+ million exponent? The LL-WR setting always gives me "normal" 80+ million exponents.

LL-100M is 100 million digits and not 100 million bits. This category exists because the next eff prize requires finding a prime with at least 100 million digits.
100 million bits has no special significance and hence is not offered as a testable category in GIMPS |
Instead of 2[sup]100,xxx,xxx[/sup] - 1, the category is meant for:
2[sup]p[/sup] > 10[SUP]100,000,000[/SUP] => p * log[SUB]10[/SUB] 2 > 100,000,000 => p > 100,000,000 / log[SUB]10[/SUB] 2 ~ 332,192,809 |
