You have a quite weird internal compiler. When you stumble upon something that you don't understand, instead of throwing an error, i.e. stopping and asking a question about the meaning of it, you simply ignore the line and continue...

No, it does not mean stating the exponent here in this thread!
It means [SIZE="4"]registering the exponent with the primenet server[/SIZE], so that the server will not hand it out to someone else, [SIZE="4"]and the rest of that first post is detailed explanation of how to do it[/SIZE].

"Claim" is a post here in this thread sharing your intention, and optionally an ETA. "Register" is obtain a valid assignment ID from the PrimeNet server, as evidenced by its addition to the worktodo line in worktodo.txt of the relevant mprime or prime95 instance, or obtaining an entire assignment line from the manual assignment page, as the case may be. Such an assignment will show up in the individual user's [URL="https://www.mersenne.org/workload/"]workload page[/URL].
Coordination of effort via the server is the most reliable way we have of controlling wasteful duplication of effort.

I suggest registering and verifying success of the AID issuances before posting a claim. I've found that sequence more efficient and less error prone.
If a valid assignment ID can not be obtained, look into why. Don't just blindly run it anyway.
