How to report a new prime discovery?

How I could report a new prime discovery?
Thanks

Is it a Mersenne prime? If so: :woltman:
75% chance of trolling (Nickname...). 24,99% chance of new MegaPrime. And 0,01% change of, you know.
It seems to me he didn't say anything about a prime number. If he is what the name says, he might just have done a prime discovery in biology or something... Maybe new microbes that find prime numbers, or whatever... Why not? if the DNA sequencing can be applied to successfully solve the salesman problem (google it)... there is a small step to crack the RSA...

Several years ago I looked up patents regarding integer factorization and similar things. One patent involved phase state changes (it could factor 3x5) and other such wonderful discoveries. Some of the dreck that had been patented was mind boggling. Certain plants reflect the Fibonacci sequence, they can't think but they can adapt and that adaptation process exists for a reason. Similarly, if there is some utility for prime numbers to exist as a sequence then it should be found in nature somewhere..microbes and other critters included.

Uh theory of conspiracy

Person find number, but doesnot know how to report it, so person ask.
Simple as that?

They are! Ever wondered why cicadas appear every 17 years? (this is only an example from many, and it is caused by evolution, due to the fact that its predators use to appear every 2, 3, 4, etc, years, and this Eratosthenes-sieved its genes in time).

And the seeds of sunfllowers are set following the Fibonacci series, while the accretion of the shells follow the law of the golden ratio.

The whole Book of Nature, it's written using a mathematical language. (C)

How would you even know that you've discovered a Mersenne prime?

Uncwilly 2018-10-08 17:20

Your computer would make noise and the program would say so. Also, you are likely to get contacted by George (at the e-mail you left when you signed up on PrimeNet.)
