[QUOTE=qqlovekerry;485110]Thanks very much!
It sounds that usually P-1 factoring will not be assigned to my laptop as the my choice is "Whatever makes sense". So, the laptop will not need a lot of memory to do the P-1 factoring, there is no difference if the memory is set to be 8MB or 3000MB. Is that right?

Correct. The program only uses what it needs. The memory allocation is only an upper limit, and only comes into play with certain tasks.

Yes, I can understand your explanation. Thanks very much for your reply!
Based on the readme file and previous post on this topic, it seems nowadays usually the P-1 factoring which need large memory will not be assigned to my laptop. So it seems there would be no difference whether the memory is set to be 8MB or 3000MB, as the laptop only takes the LL test. Is that right?
