Top 500 rankings "going backwards"?
Enjoying my newly found skillz of "scraping" websites using Python I thought I'd see how each of the Top 500 ranks' GHz-Days increase on a daily basis. (i.e. what is the average daily increase of each rank)
Oddly, it appears that sometimes they go DOWN in value. For example, rank 493 was held by the same person on 2017-12-17 as it is today (2017-12-19) yet their GHz-Days went down about 10 points. How is that? |
You're probably looking at the top 500 list for the last 365 days. It's a sliding window.

LOL. I *just* figured that out as my GHz Days value passed the 10,000 mark (for my lifetime value) and I didn't get added to the Top 500. Doh! I've also fixed my stats program to reflect this. https://github.com/daxm/prime95 |
