One (reductionist) answer to this is, to make modified copies of the DNA that made you. Which then make modified copies of themselves, etc ad infinitum. The DNA is very selfish. It doesn't care if its carrier is happy, it just wants to be copied. Hence, any enjoyment you find is a happy serendipitous side effect (of doing something other than seeking it). |
