Did anyone else notice the two new entries from Leif Leonhardy, at g=1408/1434?
Not until you mentioned it.
1408 C?C LLnhardy 2017 32.73 19 4834864424015986771 1434 C?C LLnhardy 2017 33.30 19 5013757591652095753
The first one could have been mine, the second one Dana's... Seems to me that he might be using our code... |

Seems to me that he might be using our code...
This means war. Please reserve 8000-9000 currently being tested on 180 threads. First junk to 8270 will take less than 10 days and number of threads is expected to raise up to ~500-600. I'll then share the names of the helpers. |
I do not understand why general principles of scientific cooperation are not being followed by Leonhardy.
It would be so simple as to state what ranges he has exhaustively searched and save this group valuable time and resources that could be better spent. It would be so simple for him to indicate where is he searching so as to not duplicate efforts. I suggest that either we communicate privately or to jump ahead randomly to at least 6000, without reserving any smaller rangers. |
I have been keeping copies of the First occurrence prime gaps for a few years. Leif Leonhardy found nothing new between 2015/04/20, and sometime between 2017/04/23 and 2017/06/04. I have a hard time believing it is a coincidence.
On the other hand that doesn't prove he is using the code posted in this forum. He might just have resumed his previous work because of our search. That being said, his lack of cooperation is disgusting. |

I wrote to him ( Leonhardy) twice a very polite email around May 17 when this protect started to take off, and my bananatag program notified me that he had indeed opened the email, and yet he chose not to respond. |
[...] he had indeed opened the email, and yet he chose not to respond.
I have a depressingly large number of emails in my inbox that I read, meant to reply to, *still* mean to reply to, but did not. It is not from malice but from procrastination and the belief that it merits a proper response. Which probably makes it worse as it lingers unanswered. Nice to hear about plans for 100e15 / day regardless. I wish I had access to a big cluster like that, but they're all busy running commercial production stuff which would be Very Bad to touch no matter how idle they look. |

Yeah, I can't imagine how the project would go if I used the tens of thousands of Xeons I have access to  |
Is axn working on a GPU code?!
Is axn working on a GPU code?!
Not at the moment. Not even sure it is feasible. I'm trying to study the code, but it is really complex. |

Please leave some for me  |
