Dedicated software for astronomy.

I've recently discovered http://www.distroastro.org --- anyone other than Opera with an opinion? That Web browser tried quite hard to discourage me from going there.

The feature set looks reasonably comprehensive.

Thanks for pointing this out- looks very nice, and I got no complaints from Chrome. But this is also one of those sites that make me jealous of the "youngsters" growing up in astronomy now days. Sure wish some of this had been available to me and my observing buddies when we were younger.

I liked using Sky Safari for Android, especially with the all-manual refractor, as well as when helping at star parties talking to new people (since I was pretty new myself).

I found Deep-Sky Planner to be helpful for figuring out what I would do to meet some goals for the evening, including lots of help for me to find the things, and then make a record of what I did (including where, when, how, and viewing notes). I never hooked it up to my motorized scope, and sadly haven't done much astronomy since moving 4 years ago.
