Dude, where's my link?

The link I use most often on the forum is missing! There is a reward of the satisfaction of a job well done to anyone who finds it.

Here is a recent photograph, "Options". In its younger days it looked like "User CP". Last known whereabouts were the left side of the nav bar at the top of every page.

The "Secret Menu" now has the User Control Panel link. I also noticed the profile box has changed pretty substantially. New vBulletin version, or something?
The "Secret Menu" now has the User Control Panel link.
This makes me sad. Such a commonly used link buried in a menu. I hope it can be put back.

Well, shifting of the "new posts" button to the left, due to disparition of the mentioned menus, also bothers us a lot, as now we are always clicking "search" instead of "new posts". We have to learn to click a bit more to the left. We hope we will get used with it...

Change for the sake of change. I don't understand why.

Most people prefer the climate not to change. Perhaps we can treat UI software the same?

Among other things, the fields below the avatars are unlabeled, which is mostly okay, but I feel the "Location:" field is rather more confusing without it, and some users' locations now make absolutely no sense whatsoever, and at least one good wordplay has been ruined by the (I would argue completely unnecessary) change.

The festive season doesn't suit everyone, it's true. Maybe some sympathy and condolence cards should be sent out to those who now need to get used to clicking elsewhere with the mouse, entering an extra menu, clarifying their location field, or generally having to cope with not having everything stay the same year after year? Would that turn those sad smilies upside down?

Some of us have been admiring the recent changes to the site, by the way.

if you have the forum loading each time one thing that was suggested to me since I'm on here either posting refreshing etc. so much was to have the bookmark I made to the forum be the newpost page that way it saves a click when you initially open the forum:

Hey! it moved back! Just now when we got used to click to the left of the page!
It means someone there is listening to us, and we are very happy about it!
Merry X-mass and Happy New Year everybody!
