Move 27
 

Besides the obvious 27...Qf8 there is 27...Qd8. I don't know if it's better at this time.

With 27...Qd8 you would be intending to capture on b6 with the queen instead of the rook, right? Or do you have some other plan in mind?

That plan seems too slow to me. Also I think our queen is needed on the kingside because the queen is more effective in defending our king (while combining that with attack down the f file) than our rook is.

Unless and until convinced otherwise, I think we must play 27...Qf8.

Your line is 27...qf8 28.Bxh7+ Kh8 29.Rf1 I think White would reply with Bf5 instead to allow Qh3+, Qg4+. I haven't explored this very eep so if there is an escape let me know.

That sort of attacking plan for White is why I think our queen is needed on the kingside. We can answer Bf5 with ...Qh6 in the situation you mention. (They may then force an exchange of queens by playing Qh3, but the opposite coloured bishops still give us drawing chances.)

If I was white I would not grab the awn on h7 but yru to protect the pawn on b6 and try and push it forward with the queen.

How would White do that after 27...Qf8 ?
If 28.Qa6 Qxf5 29.Qa7 Qxf2+ 30.Kh1 Qf8 and only Black has winning chances to my mind. If 29.b7 Qxf2+ 30.Kh1 Qxb2 is better still for us.

If you fell that they will take the pawn then Qf8 is the better move.

If you feel that they will take the pawn then Qf8 is the better move.
