Someone else is using my account

Just checked my individual account status and there is a computer ID (in addition to the two of mine) that is not mine. it is requesting and receiving work

Is someone using my ID/password? How could this happen?

What should I do?

Is the computer ID something like C528A1711? If so one of your computers may have renamed itself, which can sometimes happen. If this is the case you can always check your local.ini to see the Computer ID and adjust as needed.

Hi Complex33

Yes, that is exactly the type of number that is there.
However, I checked the local.ini files on both computers and they both still have the 'correct' alpha type names

Interesting?

Any other suggestions

It is a mystery, though what Complex33 wrote happens ( I've seen it ).

Is the phantom PC doing alot of work ?

If so, at least it will boost your stats !

You could always change your password, if you aren't part of a team.

It has happened to me twice that local.ini has been removed. This would cause this behaviour. It also runs any 1-h torture test again. I don't remember exactly how this happened but both times it was on a WinXP computer. I have a vague memory that Prime95 shut down just before it happened, and I had to restart it.

Hi Patrik

That is EXACTLY what happened to me.
So it is not "some else".
Thanks!!!
