Please withdraw the above candidates from 15e queue. Based on recent discussions, I am going to run additional ECM on these numbers. Thanks.

C192_139_81 queued up on 15e

It's a moderately large job - yield is ~1 at Q=2^28 so I've queued up half a billion Q, Murphy score for the SNFS polynomial is 1.875e-14, I suspect it'll take three weeks on a six-core machine for the linear algebra.

To compare, C277_150_122 has Murphy 1.811e-14, and the very hard C272_136_105 had 6.387e-15; I think the Murphy scores are usually more predictive of post-processing difficulty than the SNFS size.

Another OPN completes ECM with no hits.

Without a fresh infusion of candidates, the 14e queue will run dry in the next day or two. I have four Homogeneous Cunninghams which can go, but they are a little light on ECM. They are all SNFS difficulty 243, and they've received about 4500 curves with B1 = 11e7, plus full runs at t50, t45, etc.

Does anybody have any objections to adding these to the queue? Or alternatively, does anybody have any other candidates which are similarly appropriate for the queue and more completely pre-tested?

RichD 2016-12-06 18:12

Another one just finished up.

This is the last one for a while. Unless yoyo completes the four currently queued. I think only a couple of those are 14e eligible.
I have 11 more working but it may be a week or so until they are ready.

No objections here. Looks like you aren't short by much by traditional rules of thumb, and I think the Bayesian tool would declare them NFS ready now.

I'm in the same boat - got a 14e/31-bit job for a SNFS 257 (yes that's a high difficulty for 14/31 but the yield is ~1.2) which has survived a full t55 plus a bit of t60. Bayesian methods declare it NFS ready and I feel confident there's no p51/2 waiting to fall out. Should I post the poly? Any objections?

There are a few more xyyx 14e jobs coming up but they won't be near NFS ready for 8-10 days.

VBCurtis 2016-12-06 20:24

I have a pair of SNFS candidates in my personal queue, just finishing ECM. They're difficulty 235-240; should I post them here?

If so, I am willing to do the linear alg myself.

pinhodecarlos 2016-12-06 20:38

No objections to Jon and Curtis. Then we need to give data server access to Curtis, request underway by email to Greg and cc to Jon.

Curtis, please post polys as examples on post 784 or send them to Jon (aka jyb).

Edit: Jon and Curtis please check your inbox.
