The C190 for Home Primes 2 #4496 is finally running. 8 threads, TD=110 (120 wouldn't build).
...annnnnd it's using 22GB of RAM and will finish in a mere 922 hours or so, give or take. Yikes. :ouch1: |
Measuring matrix time in weeks rather than hours is a big change!
What dimension is the thing? A C170 (my next GNFS project) may take me 6-8 weeks to sieve, so a C190 should be over a year (4 doublings of 7 weeks is 2 years, actually) to sieve on a single machine? If so, 6 weeks to solve the matrix sounds cheap at under 10% of sieve time. |
Matrix is 34M. Current estimated time remaining is 877 hours (1.1% progress). It's far and away the largest one I've tackled.
I'm glad the extra 100M relations were gathered. I can't imagine doing this at a lower TD. |
