I'll take C175_142_39 once sieving is complete.

C179_139_61 managed to build a matrix at TD=130 and is in LA. Factors expected next Thursday.

fivemack 2015-10-08 20:07

I'll take F1405, starting linear algebra on Monday

debrouxl 2015-10-09 10:10

I have added 10M q values to C175_142_39, it was on the low side: below 210M raw relations.

RichD 2015-10-09 19:40

I'll take C174_117_79 next.

We are looking to help.

Where is the list of work that needs to be done?

We have done work similar to this in the distant past but all of our notes are long gone. If there is a simple guide please link us to it. We are using Linux if that matters. The box has an i7-3770K CPU with 32GiB of memory.

Thanks!

Edit: We have the msieve152 tarball downloaded, so that is a start, right?

fivemack 2015-10-13 07:14

It is very simple.

The projects that need doing are ones where the 'pending' number in http://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs/crunching.php has got very low but there is no name in the post-processing column. I'd start with C190_147_34, which ought to be quite quick; by the time it's finished F1415 should be ready and that's a project more worthy of your resources..

Make a directory for the project

Download the project.fb, project.ini and project.dat.gz files from http://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs_data into that directory

Decompress project.dat.gz

Rename the files as msieve.fb, worktodo.ini and msieve.dat respectively

Run 'wherever\you\put\msieve.exe -v -nc target_density=120 -t 4' and leave it for a week or so. With 32G of memory the machine should be entirely usable for other things while msieve is running.
I'd start with C190_147_34…
Okay, we'll take that one.
Download the project.fb, project.ini and project.dat.gz files from http://escatter11.fullerton.edu/nfs_data into that directory
Fortunately the password hasn't changed!
Run 'wherever\you\put\msieve.exe -v -nc target_density=120 -t 4' and leave it for a week or so.
So no need to run "remdups4"?

Thanks!
