Controversial pharmaceutical entrepreneur Martin Shkreli, the man recently dubbed “the most hated man in America”, has been arrested by the FBI and charged with “widespread fraudulent conduct”. Agents from the FBI arrested the 32-year-old hedge fund manager turned drug boss at his apartment in Manhattan on Thursday morning. Shkreli, who is now chief executive of Turing Pharmaceuticals, was charged with wire and securities fraud stemming from his time as manager of the hedge fund MSMB Capital Management and chief executive of biopharmaceutical company Retrophin. Evan Greebel, a corporate lawyer at attorney Kaye Scholer, was also arrested and accused of helping Shkreli. The charges do not relate to a continuing but separate controversy that turned Shkreli into a lightning rod for the soaring prices of prescription drugs. Of course, the practice of capitalism must be accompanied by
a rule of rational law. Fraud and incompetence do occur, and those who work for themselves and/or others without attempting to harm others or violate their rights, should receive the protection of the law. Those who act deliberately to harm others, other than in their own self-defense or to defend others' rights, must see their actions judged appropriately. |

That is practically Shakespearean! "The first thing we must do is kill all the lawyers." |
That is practically Shakespearean!
"The first thing we must do is kill all the lawyers."
He clearly saw the necessity - and we still haven't got around to it. |

This seem good: http://www.spectacle.org/797/finkel.html All kidding aside in at least one good way lawyers are like cops in that when you want one, you really want one. Oh, I just remembered a humorous sign language word. The (true) sign for Shakespeare is a gesture of a person shaking a spear. An aunt of mine worked at Western Union during the Wall Street stock crash of 1929. She said that the telegrams that went through there were horrific - including mention of things like jumping out of windows. Predator and prey dynamics should be used more often to examine economic dynamics. Just recently I saw somewhere about them being used to model turbulence. Although stability often comes by having no booms of busts of either predator or prey, utopianistic thinkers should note that a salient feature of the food chain is the chain. |

On a humorous note: Lawyer for Martin Shkreli Hikes Fees Five Thousand Per Cent - The Borowitz Report | The New Yorker
BROOKLYN (The Borowitz Report)—A criminal lawyer representing Turing Pharmaceuticals chief Martin Shkreli has informed his client that he is raising his hourly legal fees by five thousand per cent, the lawyer has confirmed. Minutes after Shkreli’s arrest on charges of securities fraud, the attorney, Harland Dorrinson, announced that he was hiking his fees from twelve hundred dollars an hour to sixty thousand dollars. Shkreli, who reportedly received the news about the price hike while he was being fingerprinted, cried foul and accused his attorney of “outrageous and inhumane price gouging.” “This is the behavior of a sociopath,” Shkreli was heard screaming. For his part, Shkreli’s lawyer was unmoved by his client’s complaint. “Compared to what he pays for an hour of Wu-Tang Clan, sixty thou is a bargain,” he said.
|

Indeed. http://shakespeare.mit.edu/2henryvi/2henryvi.4.2.html A quarter to a third down the page. |

Logically the answer to the criticism implied by the question "How many Africans were put on ships to the United States in chains ?" should be :
"Shame on you ! How dare you criticise the triangular trade which is among the roots of capitalism and (thus) freedom ?" Jacob |
