I noticed that the largest Leyland PRP, which is shown briefly in the video, was discovered by our own Serge Batalov.

Anyway, I just thought it was neat when I saw a video show up on the exact same topic as a subforum here!

Haha, I was googling Leyland numbers while watching the video and found that thread before I saw them put the text up. I knew I had seen it there, but didn't realize that they must have pulled it from the same post.

Is that method of proving a prime actually legit and peer-reviewed? I see that there's a white paper on it, but a quick search shows only that thread, which suggests it has not been fully peer-reviewed...which would make that not a proven prime, but at best a conjectured proven prime (is that a thing?).

I've also only just realized that our own [URL="http://www.mersenneforum.org/showpost.php?p=321581&postcount=11"]xilman is Paul Leyland[/URL]. I'd seen him sign his name "Paul", but never noticed his last name, or that he was a mathematician. :doh!: In case you read this, Paul, I'm curious: why is there a scan of your brain, and how did they get it for the video? Is there something unusual shown in the scan?

He is actually chemist, and very old... (see his emoticon: :paul:)

It was taken some years back when I had a very nasty attack of trigeminal neuralgia and is of interest primarily because it shows the trigeminal nerve in question.
