Yes, I agree with this.
The other move order, 48...Bd2 looks absolutely hopeless to me: 49.Ke2 Nc5 50.Ra7+ Kf6 51.Kxd2 Nxb3+ 52.Kc3 Nc5 53.Rxa5 and we can safely resign.

48...Nc5 looks like the only reasonable move to me.

I too agree with Nc5. Here's another line:

48. ... Nc5
49. Ra7+ Kf8
50. Bc2 Bd2
51. Ke2 Bc3
52. Rc7 Bd4

and we still have life....
